Mondor disease
Mondor’s disease is the thrombosis of the superficial dorsal vein of the penis. It is rare and benign disease. Appears as a painful hardening of the dorsal vein of the penis in conjunction with swelling of the dorsal surface of the penis.
Causes
- infections
- intense sexual activity
- surgeries, such as after varicocele
Treatment
- administration of non- steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
- topical cream heparin
- avoid sexual activity for 4-6 weeks.
It should be emphasized that the disease does not affect erectile function and fertility. A few months after the onset of symptoms followed by complete regression of symptoms.
