Premature ejaculation, according to recent epidemiological studies, is the most common form of sexual disorder in men with rates ranging from 20-30%, with Hispanics, Arabs and the representatives of the black race to show the highest rates.
According to the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM), “premature ejaculation is a male sexual dysfunction which is characterized by the fact that the ejaculation occurs always or almost always before or within two minutes of vaginal penetration with weakness backwardness in all or nearly all vaginal penetrations and by negative emotions such as distress, bother, failure and / or guilt”.
Although it is a quite common fact that the exact causes of premature ejaculation are not yet known to the scientific community, numerous biological and psychological factors have been implicated, such as:
- Hypersensitivity of the penis and particularly the glans
- Inflammation of the prostate gland
- Genetic predisposition
- Anxiety and
- Traumatic sexual experiences
Premature ejaculation plays an important role at male psyche. Some men who have premature ejaculation often are characterized by insecurity that they prefer to hide and incriminate themselves and ultimately lead themselves to risk sexual act aversion.
Premature ejaculation is characterized as primary, presented by the onset of sexual life of man and as secondary when it appears some time later in sexual life. The diagnosis is based on patient history (medical and sexual), the physical examination and the psychological profile of the man via specific questionnaires.
It is important to note that premature ejaculation does not adversely affect only the man but also your partner, since it not only met but love sometimes feels that her partner wants her just to satisfy his own needs. All these can cause or exacerbate existing problems and even lead to erectile dysfunction in men.
